I have something to say, and the ACLS HBCU Faculty Fellowship is allowing me the time I need to say it right.
For the first time since I received my PhD, I have not had to teach any classes for the entire semester. During this time, I have organized years’ worth of research and sat with my sources in a way that does not allow for distraction. I’ve also developed a workable draft of my project and successfully met my timeline goals for this half of the Fellowship. The ability to buy-out my courses in concurrent semesters, and the willingness of Albany State University to support me in this adventure has given me the ability to fully focus on the revision process in the coming months.
