ACLS President Joy Connolly published an essay on the future of ancient studies in the Summer 2025 issue of Dædalus, an open access publication of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Connolly’s essay, titled “Securing All the World’s Pasts for Our Common Future explores how the invention of a new field, ancient studies, aims to bring together scholars of disciplines from around the world. The journal’s current issue, How Will We Think About the Past in the Future?, edited by Ayanna Thompson, features multidisciplinary essays by leading scholars.
