Maria Monica Fernandez

After earning her master’s degree in bilingual journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, Maria Monica (“Monica”) joined the ACLS team to contribute her expertise in multimedia projects and video production as a Content Creator Intern. A native Colombian, her legal background offers a unique perspective on storytelling and digital media, passions she cultivated during her formative years in New Jersey and New York.

She now collaborates closely with program, fundraising, and leadership staff across ACLS, creating video and digital content highlighting fellowship and grant programs, as well as initiatives aimed at reshaping higher education structures and institutional membership.

When Monica isn’t capturing the perfect shot or editing footage, you’ll often find her flowing through yoga poses on her mat, seeking harmony and serenity in each stretch and breath.
