Abstract

"Writing Mutiny: Rhetoric, Transnationalism, and Asian Coalitional Organizing in the United States" documents coalitional histories of Asian diasporic activism in the United States, with a focus on writing and cultural work. Drawing on archival research and qualitative interviews, the project engages with the Ghadar Party’s diasporic anti-colonial organizing, the Third World Women’s Alliance’s anti-imperialist feminist organizing, the fight for Asian American studies at CUNY, and the coalitional work of Asian-descended activists working in a range of political movements today.
