Abstract

Elizabeth H. Moore's book "Early Landscapes of Myanmar" describes the archaeology of Myanmar from the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron ages to the development of early Pyu, Mon, and Myanmar kingdoms. The author collected archaeological data from published as well as unpublished sources and studies of excavated materials. She explores the relationship between man, material culture, and the environment. This is an updated book on Myanmar archaeology including the latest archaeological excavations and findings. Translation and publication of this book will be very beneficial for Myanmar archaeology students, as well as the Myanmar public, because literature providing new findings and methods of interpretation is very rare.
