Abstract

This project entails research into the American Antiquarian Society's digital collections of: “Photographs of Tuskegee Institute,” “Photographs of Indigenous Peoples, 1850-1900,” and “Hawaiian Engravings.” The research supports three separate essays that will focus on a specific image from each of these collections and will be integrated into a larger Open Educational Resource (OER) text published on Pressbooks using a Creative Commons license. This project builds off a successful National Endowment for the Humanities: Humanities Initiatives at Community Colleges grant, received by the Principal Investigator, Olivia Chiang, and completed between February 2022 and May 2024.
