Abstract

White pottery played an imporant role in prehistoric society. This study analyzes the composition and manufacture technology of 50 sherds and white clay samples from five big sites of Dawenkou and Longshan culture in order to determine the possible production sites, manufacture, and circulation routes of white pottery in the Eastern Seaboard Area. This project promoted the development of ceramic analysis in China.
