Abstract

This project is the second phase of a sustained program of publication of the Persepolis Fortification archive, the largest, most complex and most important single source of documents from within the Persian empire: tagged electronic editions, linked with detailed digital images of Elamite and Aramaic texts and paired with paper publication; detailed images and analysis of sealed tablets without texts; formal catalogue of the 15,000-30,000 pieces; a five-year plan for continuing collaborative work. Continuing publication is urgently needed for progress in Achaemenid history and art history, Elamite language and Old Iranian languages.
