Stephen R. MacKinnon

The project provides critical research for a book which eaves Chen Hanseng’s dramatic personal story as a political activist with analysis of the ups and downs of Chinese social science and intellectuals’ interpretations of the West throughout the twentieth century. The study began over two decades ago with extensive interviewing of Chen in Beijing.
