Position Description

The Rockefeller Archive Center (www.rockarch.org) is an independent foundation created in 1974 to house the records of the Rockefeller family, Rockefeller University, and Rockefeller Foundation. Over time, its archival collections have grown to include the records of many other foundations and nonprofit organizations. The mission of the center is to advance scholarly and practical understanding of the role of philanthropy and civil society. The Research and Education Department is responsible for hosting and organizing the center’s research and outreach programs. The department’s staff organizes the center’s workshops and conferences often in collaboration with donor institutions. As a member of the Research and Education Department, the Program Officer will work with center staff and staff of the organizations whose records are held in the archives to plan and organize scholarly conferences and workshops; participate in the development of education programs for local schools, universities, colleges, and nonprofit organizations; help to organize the center’s professional development programs; and participate in center-organized sessions at professional and scholarly associations.
