2021 Leading Edge Fellow Chris Hedlin Shares Story on Faith of Frontline Healthcare Workers
Chris Hedlin F’21 is spending 2021 working at PublicSource as an ACLS Leading Edge Fellow, reporting on faith and religion in Pittsburgh amid the pandemic. For her first story, “Faith on the frontline: Healthcare workers share stories of spiritual strength amid COVID-19,” she spoke with medical professionals about how they are drawing upon and adapting their faith during the pandemic. In describing her motivation behind the story, she wrote:
I’m trained as a religious and literary historian, studying how people of faith responded to moments of crisis in the 1800s. Now, at PublicSource, I’m excited to write about Pittsburgh religions in the present day, amid the current moment of upheaval. I hope my stories can do justice to the diversity and dynamism of Pittsburgh’s religious ecosystem.
