Valerie Popp is a Program Officer at the American Council of Learned Societies. As part of the Fellowship & Public Programs team, she works to develop, analyze, and evaluate ACLS’s growing portfolio of programs in the humanities and social sciences.
Before joining ACLS in 2017, Popp held various roles in the public and private sectors, including serving as Manager of Institutional Giving for EL Education, a national K-12 education nonprofit. She also held managerial positions at the Beth Kobliner Company, where she helped conduct research for two best-selling finance books, and at Yale University's Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies. An active literary critic, she reviews monographs and poetry volumes for Wasafiri and occasionally writes for The VIDA Review.
Popp received her PhD and MA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles and her BA in English from Yale University.
