2010 Haskins Prize Lecture Published
10/5/2010
ACLS is pleased to announce the publication of the 2010 Charles Homer Haskins Prize Lecture, A Life of Learning by Nancy Siraisi, distinguished professor emerita of history at Hunter College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York. The lecture was a highlight of the 2010 ACLS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia last May.
The lecture series honors Charles Homer Haskins, the first chairman of ACLS (1920-27). Each year a distinguished humanist is asked to to "reflect on a lifetime of work as a scholar and an institution builder, on the motives, the chance determinations, the satisfactions (and dissatisfactions) of the life of learning, to explore through one's own life the larger, institutional life of scholarship." Earlier lectures are available here.
