Olga Bukhina

Olga Bukhina
Humanities Program in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine


Olga Bukhina is consulting to ACLS on the establishment of the International Association for the Humanities. She holds a combined BA and MS in psychology from Moscow State University, Russia. She has worked as a clinical psychologist, an editor, and a translator. She has translated over 20 American, British, and Canadian children's books into Russian, including Rootabaga Stories and Rootabaga Pigeons by Carl Sandburg, Prince Caspian and the Last Battle by C. S. Lewis, and Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh. She writes about children’s literature for Russian and American journals. Her last translation (with G. Guimon) is of Philippa Gregory’s historical novel The Other Boleyn Girl. Before coming to ACLS, Bukhina was an editor for the Russian translation of Collier's Encyclopedia (a project of the Open Society Institute).
